Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP sought to refurbish its existing office space across levels 18 to 21 at CityPoint, London, while maintaining full operational capacity. The primary challenge was to execute the refurbishment in phases to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing legal operations. Additionally, the firm aimed to transition from a traditional office layout to a semi-cellular configuration that would enhance knowledge sharing and on-the-job learning for junior employees, while also creating a warm and homely atmosphere.

G&T was appointed to provide Project and Cost Management services for this complex refurbishment. Collaborating closely with architectural firm Gensler, we facilitated the development of a pioneering semi-cellular office design that met the client's objectives. The design incorporated a meeting suite, kitchen, staff café, bar, and spaces for office-wide presentations, all offering panoramic views over the City of London. Our meticulous planning and phased execution strategy ensured that the refurbishment progressed smoothly without disrupting the firm's daily operations.

The phased refurbishment was completed by early 2023, resulting in a transformed workspace that aligns with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP's vision for enhanced collaboration and employee well-being.
